Hello,
I have successfully built a 32 day easy build clock a couple of months ago, and it was running very well until about two weeks ago. Now it will only run for 8-40 hours max before stopping, and I can't find what the cause of the problem is...
There are a few funny things about my clock that could be part of the problem: no 1, I have roughly twice as much string for the weight than necessary. Is this a problem? No 2, I lost one of the spacers in the pallet assembly, so one of the pendulum bearings is exposed. Could this lead to it having dust inside it and slowing down?
The weight on this clock is 2.2 kilograms, and I built the 8-day runtime option.
Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?
I'll really appreciate help, it's frustrating to have a semi-functionnal clock that has to be re-started all the time...
Couldn't find any of the situations in the video that seemed to apply, so I tried taking appart all the gears and axles and assembling them again, and that seems to have done the trick: I can now reach 6 days of runtime.
However, I notice my pendulum isn't perfectly vertical but slops towards the wall: could this be a problem? I'm pretty sure the wall and main clock are vertical, it's just the pendulum itself that goes in a bit.
Thank-you for the help and your work!
