I have the programmed driver from 'etsy and a completed 'sp6. I have a Stepperonline 17ME15-1504s stepper a 2 amp eer phase 0.9 motor 200 step.
None of the jumper setting give me a correct RPM
Your 11 May 2023 document say use 0011jumper for 3.6 RPm. this is way too slow.
The closest I can come is setting 5 06 6 which give 6.944 rmp. My clock needs a bit over 7 rpm to time correctly...
The motor cable is the same RedBlueGreenBlack at both ends.
I have plugged it into the connector nearest the edge of the board with the red lead closest to the USB.
It is turning a bit over 7 RMP.
??? what to do?
That looks like a 400 step per revolution motor which is great for keeping the crazy gear clocks quiet, but not needed for SP6. The default firmware only has an SP6 option for 200 step motors. Every clock has slightly different gear ratios and the firmware supports the most common configurations.
Options include switching to a 1.8 degree 200 step motor. Or reprogram the firmware with twice as many steps so it will work with your motors. This would make the clock incredibly quiet, but you may not want to mess with reprogramming the Arduino Nano if you purchased the pre-progammed version. I am on vacation with my family until Sunday. I can help with the settings when I get back if you want to reprogram the chip.
