Well, my 8 day moon clock is on the wall, running well, slightly fast, but I have it down to 1 minute a day gain now. A tad more adjusting & it will be fine.
I did have a problem with the alignment of the escapement with the escapement gear, drove me nuts until I realised the Z axis on my Ender was off. Aligned now, reprinted the escapement & Bobs your uncle! All cured.
The Non Printed parts kit is worth every cent to me, I highly recommend it!
The build manual is very comprehensive, it is essential to follow it all the way.
I chose black & white for my print, it suits the decor of our apartment. I covered the globes on the dial with photos ( in black & white) of 2 people who mean a lot to my wife & I.
Thanks Steve, your design is fantastic, I had minimal clean up of gears or other parts.
Waiting to see your updated designs!

Thanks Salty, Steve’s assembly manual, if followed all the way, makes it easy to assemble, and in need, the section on problem solving is there. I have enjoyed the whole process, and like you, I can appreciate the length Steve went to to design his clocks without any supports to trim away. My first assembly was accurate within 5 minutes a day, and getting closer each day.
The other aspect I have enjoyed is your posting your photo’s & commentary throughout your build. I hope to build another of his designs later this year, possibly a desk clock.
Keep smiling Salty!
Thanks Steve, it’s one photo, I found 2 photos on an external hard drive, converted them to black & white, set the spacing & cloned the background to the same brightness. The photo is cut to shape using a thin template I printed (after the first attempt looked like it was cut by a 3 year old) & pressed in.
I am really pleased I found your web site, I have had a long despite to make a clock, I don’t have the skills or equipment (or the Man Shed) to go down that path. Your criteria for clock design fitted with my needs.
Thanks again,
Awesome. I love the photos added to the clock. It should bring joy every time you walk past. Are they actual photos? Or did you 3D print them?
Glad to hear it's running good. The clock is stunning in all B&W. So much contrast between the frame and gears. I like it. The pictures definitely personalize the clock. Nice tribute to your loved ones.
