are the gears for the crazy gear pendulum clock exactly the same as for the desk top version?

They are similar, but not exact. The sizes were scaled to fit each clock.

The tips of the gear teeth were rounded slightly to provide better filament lines on the desktop clock. They becomes less efficient, but not a problem in a motor driven clock with plenty of power. The weight driven clock went back to a more complete gear tooth since efficiency is critical for long run times.
