2) Lowered the bottom frame support column slightly to allow additional clearance for the new
gear profiles. Only two new frame components need to be reprinted if you want to upgrade an
existing clock with the new gears.
I'm in the middle of printing my moon clock. Since Steve just posted an update, I've decided to pivot to the new version. I had just finished my frame with the old version of the the instructions when the update came out. Can Steve or anyone help me understand which two files need to be reprinted for my frame (or if I misunderstand and reprint the whole frame)?
Thanks!
Gear 8 has a slightly larger outer diameter with the update. The gear teeth end up very close to the bottom support column. The two frame pieces affected are frame_back_lower_b with the support column and frame_front_lower_b that connects to the column.
It would probably still work with the old parts. You could build the clock using just the new gears and decide if you want the new frame parts later.
A new dial is an optional part if you want different looking globes.
